You have undoubtedly seen it, the fuzzy green stuff on the sides of freeways, on boulevards, on playgrounds, on acreages or perhaps right next door.
Hydroseeding is a grass planting process where we use a hydroseeding machine to spray a unique combination of ingredients onto the ground to produce amazing results.
The green slurry is typically made up of the following components:
Grass Seed - a high quality blend which is chosen for site specific purposes, drought tolerance, soil type, maintenance requirements, germination speed, sun/shade and grass color.
Mulch - a professionally formulated wood-fiber mulch which holds the seed and soil in place on the ground while allowing air and water to penetrate. It results in fast and effective seed germination and growth by providing a moist and warm microenvironment.
Tackifier - an organic liquid or powder 'glue' specifically designed to bond the mulch and seed to the soil and to reduce erosion on sloped surfaces.
Fertilizer - a specially formulated start-up fertilizer, usually high in Phosphorus, in order to promote a healthy root system.
Water - the key ingredient for seed germination.
For a successful hydroseeding application, the slurry is mixed thoroughly and applied at an effective application rate. Our experienced professionals will typically spray about 1,000 gallons of slurry containing up to 100 pounds of seed, 450 pounds of mulch and 50 pounds of fertilizer for every 10,000 square feet.
The result is fast, efficient and economical grass growth wherever you need it.
